(Richmond, IN)--There’s been another development in Elder-Beerman’s struggle to survive.  Workers at some stores, including the Dayton Mall store, have received a notice about layoffs potentially taking place in the coming months.  Elder-Beerman’s parent company, Bon-Ton is for sale.  Elder-Beerman’s future, according to a release, will depend on what company buys Bon-Ton.  Bon-Ton said it was required by law to provide the layoff notice.  The company filed for bankruptcy in February.  The Richmond Elder-Beerman was not mentioned specifically in the release.
