(Richmond, IN)--A couple of weeks ago, Kicks 96 and The Point News reported that Belden in Richmond had initiated a program aimed at helping people with drug addiction. Potential Belden employees who fail pre-employment drug screens are offered personalized drug rehab. A job with Belden is then made available if the person is able to successfully complete rehab and remain drug free. Now, that program is making national news. CNN Money featured Belden’s new program. "If we look at the counties where more medication is being prescribed, we see a bigger drop in the labor force participation rate," said one industry expert in the feature. No one currently applying for a job at Belden agreed to speak with CNN.
