FORMER OFFICER CHARGED WITH ALLOWING POLICE CANINE TO STARVE TO DEATH

(Laurel, IN)--A former reserve police officer in Laurel is now facing a felony charge after allegedly starving his own canine partner to death.  The dog, whose name was Blade, was a German Shephard and weighed less than a third of the normal weight of a dog of that breed at the time of his death.  Clint Ellis now faces trial in November after the recent filing of charges.  Ellis is also accused of stealing items from the evidence locker at the Laurel Police Department.  And, in yet another case, he’s accused of harassing hunters.
