(Mount Carmel, IN)--Earlier this week, Kicks 96 and The Point News reported that a dead body had been found in a van in a school parking lot in Franklin County.  Now, that person has been identified.  Investigators say 28-year-old Garrett Shepard of Liberty was the man found in the Mount Carmel School parking lot just east of Brookville.  Shepard was thought to have been dead for 48 hours.  The death is not connected to the school and there were no signs of trauma or any struggle.  Toxicology results will take up to six weeks.  Shepard was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army.
