(Lakengren, OH)--One area lake has this season’s first blue-green algae alert.  It’s Lake Lakengren, where an algae alert was posted over the weekend.  Levels there have risen very slightly over normal levels.  The alert does not prevent swimming, although showering afterward is now recommended.  Other area lakes, including Brookville Lake, Whitewater, and Acton Lake at Hueston Woods have not yet issued alerts.  Algae alerts in our area have become much more common in recent years.
