(Liberty, IN)--Restaurant owners in Liberty and Brookville are facing serious federal charges as the result of a two-year investigation. The partial owners of El Reparo Mexican Restaurant are accused of federal money laundering, corrupt business influence, and multiple other tax-related crimes. The owners allegedly failed to report income and underpaid taxes by half a million dollars. They also allegedly used false social security numbers for 15 illegal immigrants working at El Reparo. A state police excise officer called it an “ongoing pattern of criminal activity.”
