(Richmond, IN)--More locations are being suggested as cooling centers as the excessive heat warning remains in place across the Whitewater Valley. In Richmond, those locations include fire stations, the Red Cross, the Senior Center, and several libraries. While it will be hot today, it’s not even remotely close to as hot as it’s ever been in Richmond. Friday’s forecast high of 93 is not even in the top 250 hottest days in Richmond historically. The city has hit 100 degrees 38 times, but we’ll be well short of that. Richmond’s highest temperature ever was on July 22 of 1901, when it hit 108 degrees.
