(Whitewater Valley)--Last week, we told you that new statistics showed that 45% of Wayne County’s population – meaning the total population – is currently working. It’s a statistic that’s widely considered to be a measure of both demographics and economic well-being. The county in our area that has the highest percentage of its population working is Franklin County, which has 55%. Franklin County is also the Whitewater Valley’s most affluent county. The lowest in our area is Fayette County, where just 37% of the entire population is currently working. Here are the figures for all area counties: Wayne, 45%. Union, 51%. Fayette, 37%.
