(Richmond, IN)--Construction on I-70 westbound around Richmond is now affecting traffic on heavily traveled streets inside the city limits. Barriers restricting westbound traffic to one lane are in place on 70, and that’s forcing daily backups. On Monday, there were three minor accidents within a half an hour, and that forced interstate traffic into the city. Meanwhile, traffic on the interstate was at a standstill. One driver reported that it took an hour to get from the state line to the Williamsburg Pike exit. The construction will continue for about two months.
