(Liberty, IN)--A plea agreement will mean that a Union County farmer will receive only probation after more than three dozen cows were found dead on his property earlier this year. A total of 38 cows were found dead at the West College Corner farm of Rodney Sintz. Many others were malnourished. Sintz pled guilty to one felony count of failure to dispose of a dead animal. Five other charges were dropped. Investigators found that up to a hundred cows had inadequate access to food and water. They were also kept in a barn that had manure a foot deep.
