KEY WITNESS CHANGES TESTIMONY IN CHILDERS MURDER TRIAL

(Richmond, IN)--A key witness testified in a Wayne County courtroom Thursday that he heard James Childers admit to stabbing and killing Austin Sparks.  That witness was Childers’ uncle, and his testimony is significantly different than what he said during Childers’ first trial.  Last year, James Mills testified that Childers never admitted to stabbing anybody.  But Thursday, Mills told jurors that the admission came while the two were smoking marijuana in a Cincinnati garage a few months after the murder.  The trial resumes Friday morning.
