(Greens Fork, IN)--Here’s a follow-up to our report Monday on Wayne County puppy mills. Wayne County has been identified as one of the worst in Indiana for the number of puppy mills, with 14. In a different study by the Humane Society, one Wayne County puppy mill has been included in its list called the “Horrible Hundred”, which identifies the worst of the worst nationally. A report by an inspector provides gruesome details of conditions at a Greens Fork puppy mill. Most of those details are too graphic to share, but puppies and adult dogs were found in poor health and housed in crowded cages without adequate shelter from the elements. In a related story, President Trump on Monday signed legislation that makes animal cruelty a federal offense, punishable by up to seven years in prison.
