(Whitewater Valley)--Some area hospitals have now issued visitation restrictions in an effort to help curb the spread of the flu. At McCullough-Hyde in Oxford, no one who is currently ill will be allowed to visit, and children under the age of five are required to wear a mask. At Wayne HealthCare in Greenville, prohibited visitors include anyone who is sick and all kids under the age of 14. Reid Health does not have any current visitor restrictions, but did issue a reminder yesterday that masks, hand gel, and tissues are available at entrances. Last week, the number of flu cases in the emergency room dropped when compared to Reid urgent cares in the area.
