(Richmond, IN)--A Richmond man was shot Thursday afternoon in an incident that came to an end following a two-hour standoff with the alleged shooter. Police and first responders were called to a building in the 800 block of South G. That building houses the Dragon’s Den tattoo parlor. Earlier in the day, the suspect, who has been identified as 29-year-old Alex Irwin, had entered the basement. The basement was full of scrap metal. Irwin allegedly shot the building’s owner through the knee when the owner started down the basement steps and then refused to come out. The SWAT Team responded and was eventually able to get Irwin out. He’s being held on a bond totaling just over $16,000. Irwin’s criminal record includes multiple drug-dealing arrests. The victim is out of the hospital.
