SCHOOL LEADERS TO ATTEND HEALTH DEPARTMENT MEETING

(Richmond, IN)--The Wayne County Health Department Board will be meeting Thursday morning with an update on coronavirus precautions as the primary expected topic.  There are still no confirmed cases anywhere within a 70-mile radius of Richmond.  Some community leaders, including representatives of Wayne County schools, are expected to be on hand as well.  Some Wayne County events have been cancelled, but most will continue as scheduled.  School districts across the Whitewater Valley are continuing to prepare for potential extended closures due to coronavirus.  Richmond Community Schools has posted on its website that it is continuously updating and reviewing emergency preparedness plans.  It’s the same at Eaton, where all parents were notified last night that the school is finalizing how it would use its e-learning system in the event of an extended closure.  Most local and regional colleges have suspended classroom teaching beginning and ending on various dates.  That includes IU East, Miami, Ball State, UC, UD, and Xavier.
