(Franklin County, IN)--Details have now been released about a horrific incident in Franklin County that claimed six lives. In the heavy rain last Friday morning, a bridge over Sanes Creek near Laurel washed out. Two vehicles drove off the bridge in the pre-dawn hours and into the swollen creek. Haley Lewis is a family member of one of the six killed. She said calls were made, but authorities could not get there in time to close the bridge. The victims have been identified as 47-year-old Shawn Roberts and 48-year-old Burton Spurlock in one vehicle. The four in the other vehicle were all members of the same family including 35-year-old Felina Lewis and three children ages 13, 7, and 4.
