REID SAYS COVID-19 IS KEEPING PATIENTS WITH OTHER HEALTH EMERGENCIES AWAY

(Richmond, IN)--Covid-19 has had an indirect effect on the health of some local residents.  A Reid Health physician indicated Tuesday that some local people suffering from non-virus medical emergencies – things like heart attacks and strokes – are delaying seeking immediate care for fear of being exposed to the virus.  The Reid statement Tuesday states that contracting the disease as a result of a trip to the hospital is less likely that contracting it from a trip to the grocery store.  Reid cardiologist Dr. John McGinty said that delaying treatment for a heart attack can be the difference between life and death.
