(Richmond, IN)--One teen is dead and another was wounded following what appears to have been a Mother’s Day shootout in a heavily populated Richmond neighborhood. Officers were called at 5 o’clock Sunday afternoon to a home in the 300 block of Lincoln Street. Two 17-year-olds – one male and one female – were found with gunshot wounds. The female victim was treated and released, but the male victim was taken to Reid Health and later pronounced dead. The Richmond Police Department has not released the victims’ names or other details of the shooting, but they did say that no arrests have been made and have asked for anyone with any information to contact them. Scanner traffic indicated that neighbors heard between eight and 12 gunshots. Some of those witnesses saw one person run into a house and return fire. One weapon was found on the side of a house during the investigation.
