(Richmond, IN)--An ordinance that would restrict new non-profits from setting up in downtown Richmond and in the Depot District continues to be modified. It was addressed at Monday night’s meeting of Richmond Common Council. Councilman Larry Parker proposed the ordinance last month. Current non-profits already located downtown or in the Depot District would not be affected. But, if the ordinance passes, organizations like churches, community centers, government offices, and museums would could have a more difficult time obtaining zoning approval.
