(Cambridge City, IN)--It’s been a major issue in western Wayne County for years, and now it appears to be resolved. On Monday night, Sugar Creek Packing agreed to terms to stay with the Western Wayne Regional Sewage District. It’s great news for a couple of reasons. First, it will keep rate increases for people in the Cambridge City area much lower than they could’ve otherwise been. Secondly, it will allow the Wayne County EDC to intensify marketing efforts for the Indiana Gateway Industrial Park. An engineering contract for the project was approved Monday night. If all goes as planned, the new treatment plant will be operational in two years. Wayne County is expected to contribute a million dollars toward the project.
