(Wayne County, IN)--The number of patients in Reid Health’s Covid-19 containment area has taken another significant increase. The number stood at 27 Wednesday morning, which is two-and-a-half times higher than it was when the number stood at 11 two weeks ago. Wayne County has also now passed the 200-case mark and stands Wednesday morning at 215. 75 of those cases, or about one-third, have been recorded in just the last two weeks. Wayne County Commissioners could discuss a mask mandate Wednesday. Commissioners meet every Wednesday, but this is the first Wednesday meeting since the county’s Board of Health recommended making the wearing of a mask anywhere in public mandatory. An unscientific poll indicates that the majority of residents do not want a mandate. More than 2300 people responded to a recent social media poll. Of those who responded, twice as many people opposed a mask mandate as people who favor one.
