NEIGHBOR HELPS STOP BURGLARY IN PROGRESS

(Richmond, IN)--An alert neighbor stopped a burglary in progress on New Paris Pike in Richmond early Thursday morning.  At around 12:30 a.m., two men backed a pickup truck up to a house and were in the process of clearing it out.  Neighbor Chad Cochran contacted the homeowner and police were called.  "The one guy was by the truck when the police department showed up.  The other guy was in the house," Cochran said.  One of the burglars fled.  "He took off sprinting.  There was this little foot chase.  You could hear him.  He was running and laughing...idiot...but like five cops tackled him and took him to the ground," Cochran added.  The suspect has now been identified as Josh Farmer.  Farmer was in the Wayne County Jail Thursday morning.
