(Richmond, IN)--A Richmond man died Wednesday on I-70 when a New Jersey trucker stopped suddenly in the westbound lanes between Chester Boulevard and Williamsburg Pike. That was the assessment of the Indiana State Police in the crash that claimed the life of 48-year-old James Alcorn. People in another westbound vehicle had signaled to the trucker that he had lost part of his load. Rather than pull over, the trucker stopped in the passing lane, causing Alcorn to strike the back of the flatbed truck. Westbound 70 was closed for several hours. The investigation is continuing.
