(Richmond, IN)--There’s a new monument in place in Glen Miller Park near East Main Street in Richmond. A hundred years ago, there was a baseball stadium called Exhibition Park on the south side of East Main and at the bottom of the hill almost across from the Rose Garden. That’s where a Negro League team called the Richmond Giants played. Now, a home plate has been placed in a concrete pad with a sign that notes the proximity to the former stadium. More than a dozen Negro League players now in the Hall of Fame played there.
