(Richmond, IN)--It became official Wednesday night…Dr. Curtis Wright signed a contract to formally become the next superintendent of Richmond Community Schools. The RCS Board met Wednesday night to approve the contract. Wright returns to lead the school system from which he graduated in 1997. He spent much of Wednesday touring buildings and meeting with students, staff, and parents. His contract goes into effect on June 1. While Richmond schools have a new superintendent, another Wayne County school system is searching for its next leader. George Philhower’s time as the leader of Western Wayne schools is coming to an end. Philhower is stepping down to take a new position as superintendent at Eastern Hancock. A search team made up of professors from regional universities is helping with the search at Western Wayne. Philhower had been with Western Wayne for 13 years.
