(Richmond, IN)--For eight years, Wayne County has tried to squeeze unpaid property taxes out of the former owners of the old Reid Hospital property. Now, that chase has ended with a settlement. The owners of Spring Grove Development gutted the old Reid property and skipped out on a tax bill that now totals $1.36 million. One of those owners, Bob Ciprietti, has agreed to a $75,000 settlement. It means that the county is collecting about 18 cents for every dollar owed. Another owner, Ernesto Zamparini, never responded to the lawsuit. The county won a default judgement against him for the full amount, but none of it has been recovered.
