NATIONAL TRAIL STAFFERS SAY CHARGES BEING PURSUED AGAINST RHS COACH

(Richmond, IN)--Members of the coaching staff of the National Trail High School football team say that the coach who was struck by a Richmond High School football coach officially pursued charges Tuesday.  It’s a result of an incident that occurred during a scrimmage at Lyboult Field 12 days ago.  Video shows the Richmond coach striking a National Trail coach in the face or head on the field after tempers flared among players.  According to National Trail staff members Tuesday, the coach who was struck went to the Richmond Police Department Tuesday to pursue charges and was told that the case would be turned over to the Indiana State Police due to a conflict of interest.  One Richmond police officer is also a member of the Richmond Community School Board.  The Richmond Community School Board meets Wednesday afternoon.  So far, RCS administrators have not announced any action or publically acknowledged that the incident occurred.  (Note:  The image accompanying this story is from a screenshot of a video sent to Kicks 96 and 101.7 The Point News and depicts the moment the coach was struck.)
