(Richmond, IN)--A young driver escaped serious injury when the 400-horsepower Hellcat he was driving became airborne and struck a Richmond home. It happened at around 3 o’clock Thursday morning on South 14th across from Merle Henderson Apartments. "It just hit the foundation. It didn't get into the house. Structurally, the house is still sound but it did push the engine back into the car," said Battalion Chief Eric Holmes, who added that the car went airborne when it went up a steep embankment. No one inside the home was hurt. "They had him out on the street doing a sobriety test when we got there," Holmes added. The driver’s age and identity have not been released.
