(Richmond, IN)--Richmond Community Schools has been in session for a month now, and there appears to have been a lot of hiring going on. On the day that school started – August 10 – the RCS website listed an incredible 64 job openings for certified and classified personnel. On Tuesday morning, that number had been cut nearly in half and stood at 36. Still, that’s far more than all four other public Wayne County school districts combined (24). There are only six certified spots open at RCS. Many of the 36 open positions are for paraprofessionals. The RCS Board meets Wednesday afternoon.
