MUCH OF DEPOT DISTRICT CITY BLOCK TO BE DEMOLISHED

(Richmond, IN)--Four buildings that cover an entire city block on a heavily traveled street in Richmond have been approved for demolition.  This week, Richmond’s Historic Preservation Commission unanimously approved demolition of three homes in the 400 block of North 9th and another in the 800 block of North D.  Those buildings are at the south end of the U.S. 27 overpass of the Depot District.  The demolition will pave the way for construction of a $3.2 million, 26,000 square-foot, three-story building.  Much of the space in that new building will be rented out by its owner, Abilities Richmond.
