(Richmond, IN)--Nearly five years after the alleged crime, a murder trial has finally gotten underway in a Wayne County courtroom.  Jury selection took place Monday in the trial of Michael Carr.  Carr is charged with shooting and killing Jason Lewis after chasing him on foot through the Genesis Apartment complex at South 23^rd and L Streets in Richmond in August of 2018.  Carr’s trial date has been pushed back eight separate times for various reasons.  At least one state prison inmate was brought back to Wayne County Monday to testify at the trial.
