CITY MOVING INTO CLEANUP PHASE OF MY WAY TRADING FIRE

(Richmond, IN)--The city of Richmond, with the help of state and federal agencies, is now transitioning into the cleanup phase of the My Way Trading fire.  Mayor Dave Snow told Common Council this week what the city has most recently done.  "...have submitted a formal request to the EPA to assist with cleanup," Snow said.  And, here's what’s next:  "They're going to demobilize that site on May 9 as they feel their emergency response with contracted workers is coming to a completion.  However, they're going to continue partnering us moving forward.  They're just demobilizing the site," Snow explained.  The last EPA update came Monday.  At that point, they had collected debris from 245 public and private properties and visibly inspected debris at another 511 locations, where they found no evidence of presumed asbestos-containing material.
