SEARA BURTON'S NAME ADDED TO NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER MEMORIAL

(Washington, D.C.)--On Saturday night in a ceremony in Washington, D.C., Seara Burton’s name was added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.  The Richmond Police Officer died last September after being shot in line of duty a month earlier.  "Each of their names will be read and will forever be etched on the walls of the National Memorial and in the hearts of a grateful nation," said a speaker at this weekend’s event.  Then, Seara’s name was read.  On Monday, the Annual National Peace Officer’s Memorial Service will be held, as well as a stand watch in which honor guards stand watch for ten-minute intervals to honor fallen officers from around the country, including Richmond’s Seara Burton.
