CITY CONSIDERS BURN BAN THAT COULD AFFECT FIREWORKS

(Richmond, IN)--Richmond Mayor Dave Snow told Common Council Monday night that the lack of rain could result in a burn ban which could, in turn, affect local fireworks.  Nothing is official yet and a burn ban is only being considered by the city.  But, if the ban is put into place, personal fireworks would be prohibited.  There would also be implications for the annual display on Roosevelt Hill.  According to the National Weather Service, Richmond has not officially had any rain for 16 consecutive days and has had less than three inches since the first of May.  There’s no rain in the forecast until Sunday and Monday.
