LIBERTY AVENUE CLOSES FOR A YEAR AS SEWER PROJECT BEGINS

(Richmond, IN)--The Richmond Sanitary District has begun construction on its new Short Creek Lift Station on Liberty Avenue.  The new lift station will handle more than three times the capacity of the existing station and be more energy efficient.  But, here’s the down side.  Construction means another lengthy road closure.  Liberty Avenue will be closed from the Sanitary District to U.S. 27.  Lots of people on Richmond’s southwest side use Liberty Avenue as a shortcut to 27 when they’re going south.  The closure is expected to last for a full year.
