(Richmond, IN)--Numerous agencies responded to a fire just north of Richmond late Tuesday afternoon.  It broke out at around 4:15 at a home on State Road 227 near Gaar Road.  Those firefighters were being credited Wednesday morning with saving the house.  "They made a good stop on it.  It really didn't get into the house.  It stayed in the garage," said Battalion Chief Eric Holmes.  227 was shut down and tankers were brought in from Fountain City and Webster.  Occupants were evacuated without injury.  The cause remains under investigation.
