AREA MOVES OUT OF DROUGHT STATUS

(Whitewater Valley)--All of the Whitewater Valley has now moved out of official drought status, and that’s good news as fireworks time approaches.  Parts of Preble County had classified as in a drought by the federal government, but that ended Thursday when an updated map was released.  All of Wayne County is still classified as abnormally dry.  Richmond Mayor Dave Snow had cautioned a few weeks ago that dry conditions could lead to a burn ban, which would have had the potential to impact fireworks.
