(Richmond, IN)--A trial this week has ended with a Richmond man being sent to jail for Neglect of a Dependent Causing Death.  30-year-old Matthew Shaffer was sent to jail from court Thursday.  Three years ago, Shaffer’s four-month-old child was found with numerous life-threatening injuries that doctors said was the result of serious physical abuse that included violent shaking.  There’s no mention of a sentencing date yet in online court documents.  The child’s mother, Casey Miller, is currently set to go on trial for similar charges in October.
