ARMY CORPS PREDICTS BROOKVILLE LAKE WATER LEVEL COULD RISE 26 FEET

(Franklin County, IN)--With as much as eight inches of rain predicted to fall across some parts of the Whitewater Valley between Wednesday night and Sunday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has released some estimates on impacts on local rivers.  Those predictions show what would be an incredible rise.  Tuesday night at 8 o’clock, the Whitewater River at Brookville was at 3.9 feet.  At 8 o’clock Friday morning, the river is predicted to be at 14.5 feet – more than three times as high.  Brookville Lake was designed to control flooding.  The Army Corps of Engineers is predicting its water level could rise as much as 26 feet higher than where it sat Wednesday morning.
