CARDINAL GREENWAY STABBING

One Richmond man has been accused of stabbing another at a homeless encampment along the Cardinal Greenway.  44 year-old Richard A. Reese was charged Monday with battery with a deadly weapon. According to Richmond Police, Reese used a pocket knife to stab a 36-year-old Richmond man during a dispute on Saturday. The victim was found walking south on the trail near Richmond Avenue with wounds on the left side of his torso and on his left hand.  He was taken by ambulance to Reid Hospital.  When police found Reese at the encampment on the east side of the Greenway, past the bridge, he denied the conflict had become violent. . .telling police the pocketknife he was carrying was "only used for cutting cheese and pork chops."
