(Richmond, IN)--A man labeled by the state as a serious sex offender was taken into custody when he showed up at Vaile Elementary School in Richmond Thursday afternoon.  30-year-old Joshua Mays has been on the sex offender registry since he was found guilty of possessing child pornography in Rush County back in 2016 in a case in which he was also charged with vicarious sexual gratification.  Last fall, Mays was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in Richmond.  A plea agreement is being worked out on that charge.  There’s no word on what Mays was doing at Vaile.
