(Franklin County, IN)--A couple of weeks ago, high levels of E. coli forced the closure of the beach at Whitewater Memorial State Park in Union County.  Now, the same issue has closed the beach for swimming at Mounds Beach on Brookville Lake.  Indiana State Parks announced the closure Tuesday because weekly water test results showed high levels of E. coli.  There is no time frame for the beach closure at Mounds to remain in place.  The beach at Quakertown remains open for swimming, and the beach at Whitewater reopened a few days after closing.
