(Richmond, IN)--ILEARN results were released Wednesday for students across Indiana in grades 3 through 8.  It measures proficiency of students in math, English, and other areas of study.  Statewide, 41% of students are proficient in English and 42% are proficient in math.  For Richmond Community Schools, the numbers are significantly lower.  Wednesday’s results show only 25% of students are proficient in English and 23% are proficient in math.  The numbers drop further when counting students who are proficient in both subjects.  For instance, only nine percent of RCS eighth-graders are proficient in both.  At the elementary level, Charles performed best with half of students proficient in both subjects.  No other elementary was even close to that.
