Sammy Kershaw was stopped by Louisiana airport security last month for having a loaded handgun in his carry-on. The singer was on his way to a show, May 28 when Lafayette Airport security stopped him. The TSA flagged his bag after finding a wayward firearm, and the FBI even got in on the action. In a statement, Kershaw said "it was early" and he was "clearly not thinking straight". He was fined $5,000 for the offense but could have faced jail time and fines in excess of $10,000 for what he said was a simple oversight.
