(Richmond, IN)--Richmond Common Council this week unanimously approved a major expenditure by the city’s fire department. Chief Tim Brown told council how more than $3.1 million will be spent. "For a Pierce Enforcer 107-foot aerial ladder truck, a Pierce Enforcer pumper, equipment for both, the remodel of Station #5, the remodel of Station #2, and some upgrades to our self-contained breathing apparatus." The purchase will deplete the EMS revenue account by about 60%. Purchasing now means the equipment will arrive late this year. That’s four years sooner than if it had to be ordered.
