TEEN SHOOTER SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS

(Richmond, IN)--A 20-year-old Richmond resident has been sentenced to a total of seven years in prison, but that’s a lot less than it could have been based on the original charge.  Two summers ago, Jason Duncan, who was 18 years old at the time, fired shots that struck a juvenile near G Street in Richmond.  Duncan was originally charged with attempted murder and faced 40 years, but his charge was pled down to aggravated battery.  Duncan was also sentenced to an additional year for attacking a public safety official.  In September, he’s set to go on trial in a robbery case on the Ball State campus.
