CENTERVILLE MOM CHARGED WITH FELONIES FOR CHILDRENS' POOR ATTENDANCE

(Centerville, IN)--Wayne County schools are all focusing on improving attendance for the upcoming school year, and now one Centerville mother is facing felonies as a result of her children missing an incredible amount of school days.   According to court documents, Carla Smith’s Centerville Elementary School student missed 124 of 180 school days in the last school year, including 33 of 35 days in April and May.  Those absences came despite multiple warnings.  A second older child missed 75 of 180 days.
