(Eaton, OH)--All Preble County households will soon be getting letters from Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright about property tax value hikes ordered by the state. Preble County’s increase came in a 26%, but Wright was quick to stress Monday that that does not mean an across-the-board property tax hike. The increase will apply to inside millage, which are non-voted measures that can vary by township. Wright is scheduling a series of eight public meetings across Preble County to explain the issue. The state had wanted to give Preble County a 37% hike, but Wright was able to get that down to 26%.
