(Richmond, IN)--Richmond’s Main Street Bridge is about to be remained. On Saturday, that bridge over the Whitewater Gorge will be renamed the Dr. Mary F. Thomas Bridge. Thomas was a medical doctor in Richmond around the time of the Civil War and eventually gained notoriety in her fight for women’s rights – especially the right to vote. Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch will be on hand Saturday to dedicate the bridge and unveil a historical marker.
