WAYNE COUNTY UNEMPLOYMENT RISES FOR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE MONTH

(Wayne County, IN)--Wayne County’s unemployment rate is continuing to rise.  According to new numbers from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, for the fourth straight month, Wayne County’s rate is higher than the month before.  On Wednesday morning, it stands at 4.1%.  It’s the first time in two years that the unemployment rate has been over four percent.  96 more Wayne County residents than last month say they’re without jobs.  There are 165 more residents listed as unemployed than this time last year.  Fayette County now has the state’s second-highest unemployment rate at 5.6%
